Actors will further develop their understanding of the craft by applying Stanislavski’s principles through Scene Study and a final performance for an invited audience of fellow actors and industry professionals. The second quarter will also introduce the student to additional advanced Stanislavski techniques. Those who complete the second quarter of the school’s four-quarter curriculum will then become eligible for the Theatre’s weekly Workshop and Playhouse productions.
Company Master Class
On-Going
The Company Master Class is on-going, by invitation only and requires completion of "Exploring the Method" and "Advanced Study." This class is for actors who want to make the Atwater Playhouse their home and are interested in continually pushing themselves to advance their art and to further the future of the theatre. Membership in the class requires commitment and is focused on performance in our monthly showcases. During the class, company members will be encouraged to challenge themselves by applying all they have learned to any dramatic work that speaks to them personally. Each actor will also be encouraged to bring in original material, as well as exploring writing and directing exercises. By having a chance to work with other classically trained, experienced method actors from the company, each student will further their understanding of the acting craft and strive to master a technique that will stay with them for their entire life.
Class size is limited. For further information and to schedule an admissions interview, please call the theatre’s main number, 323-556-1636 or email info@atwaterplayhouse.com
